How To Make Natural Face Cleanser At Home

When I was a teenager, my mom used to make excellent cleaners at home. They always gave much better results than the best facial cleansers. As we learn about the harmful effects of chemicals and other unnatural ingredients in many commercial skin care products, and as the cleanliness of life becomes a daily priority, natural facial cleansers are making a comeback in our lives.

Today, we’re talking about 4 natural, homemade facial cleansers that will give you fantastic results. Most of them contain the ingredients available in our kitchen.

Oil

The first thought that comes to mind when we hear about oil is how oil can cleanse our faces. But oil is one of the best cleansers for dry skin that cleanses the skin without stripping away the natural oils. Oil has a unique combination of natural fats that are good for the skin. For example, coconut oil has linoleic acid, which helps fight acne, and lauric acid, a moisturizer, and an antimicrobial. It’s one of the star methods used in Hollywood to remove makeup.

How to apply it – Take a squirt of oil (coconut/olive/grape/almond or any other product you prefer) and massage it gently onto your face for 30 to 40 seconds. Wet a white microfiber towel under hot water, squeeze out the excess water and hold the towel against your face for a few minutes. It will open clogged pores, then gently pat your face with the towel to remove oil from your skin.

Honey

The mildest facial cleanser and my favorite too. It cleanses the face very well while keeping the skin moisturized. The beauty of honey is that it is suitable for all skin types and can be used alone without mixing other ingredients.

How to apply it – Take a lemon squirt and gently massage it into your face. Let it dry for 10 to 15 minutes and wash it with warm water.

Add a few drops of lemon juice to half a tablespoon of honey for oily skin and mix them. Gently apply the mixture to your face, let it dry for 10 to 15 minutes, and then wash it with warm water. The mixture of honey and lemon becomes an excellent natural moisturizer and antiseptic. (I use Honey and Lemon mix cleanser).

For dry skin, add honey milk or cream. To remove the makeup, put a small quantity of honey on a washcloth, sprinkle it with baking soda, and gently use the washcloth to remove the makeup. Then wash your face with warm water.

Yogurt

Another gold from the past. Yogurt is a gentle and healthy facial cleanser. The combination of protein and lactic acid in yogurt detoxifies the skin, leaving it rejuvenated and soft. Regular use of yogurt to cleanse your face will remove dead skin cells from exfoliation, tighten pores, reduce the appearance of fine lines, and moisturize your skin.

How to apply – Apply plain yogurt with your fingertips to your face and massage it in gently. Leave the yogurt on your face for a few minutes, then rinse with warm water.

Depending on your skin type, you can add lemon juice, honey, or oil.

Cleansing Grains

Cleansing Grains are usually the powder of herbs or foods in our kitchen. You can use gram flour, cornmeal, rice, oats, or nuts as cleaning grains.

Finely ground grains mixed with lemon/honey/milk/yogurt/rosewater/glycerin/oil make a perfect facial cleanser.

How to apply – choose any of the finely ground grains available in your kitchen and mix it with any of the liquids mentioned above, depending on your skin type – for oily skin, you can mix lemon and honey, or for dry skin, you can use milk/yogurt/oil. Add rose water for a touch of perfume. Gently rub your face with the mixture for a few minutes. Keep your touch light. Otherwise, your skin may burst. Wash off with warm water.
